Created in 1867 by Pavel Michailovitch Kousmichoff in St.Petersburg, Kusmi Tea quickly became one of the three largest teahouses in Russia and was a supplier to the tsars. The teahouse rapidly expanded throughout all of the Europe-opening offices in 1907 in London, then the world capital of the tea trade, Berlin, previously the modern and trendy place for tea, and finally in Paris, where Viatcheslav, the son of the founder, moved the company in 1917 after fleeing russia because of the Revolution.
